watch something amazing
READ BEFORE VIEWING THE VIDEO!
If you thought that the people who set up a room full of dominoes to
have them knocked over later was amazing, you haven't seen anything
yet. There are no computer graphics or digital tricks in these
images. Everything that you see happened in real time exactly as you
see it. The recording required 606 takes and in the first 605 takes
there always was something, usually of minor importance, that didn't
work. It was necessary for the recording team to install the set-up
time after time and it took several weeks’ working day and night to
achieve this effect.
The recording cost 6 million dollars and it took 3 months to finish,
including the engineering design of the sequence. The duration of the
video is only 2 minutes, but every time that Honda shows the
commercial on British television, they make enough money to support
any of us for the rest of our lives. However, this commercial has
turned out to be the most displayed in the history of the Internet.
Honda execs think that it will pay for itself simply because of the
free showings (Honda is not paying one cent for you to see it)
When Honda senior execs viewed it, they immediately approved it
without hesitation - including costs. There are only six Honda
Accords built by hand in the whole world, and to the horror of Honda
engineers, the recording team disassembled two of them for the
recording. Everything you see in the sequence (besides the walls,
floor, ramp and untouched Honda Accord) is part of those two
automobiles. The voice is that of Garrison Keiller.
The commercial was so well received by Honda execs when they saw it,
that their first comment was how amazing the computer graphics were.
They almost fell out of their chairs when told that the recording was
real without any graphics manipulation.
By the way, about the windshield wipers in the new Honda Accords, they
are sensitive to water and designed to start working as soon as they
get wet.
Enjoy!

this says a lot
I'm not sure how your husband feels about you shopping for his clothes, (if you do) but mine loves it! I've bought his clothes the entire time we've been married-and believe he needed my help before we got married-but that's another story.
I just saw this enlightening video about what happens when a man does their own shopping and it confirmed to me yet again, why it's a good thing I buy his clothes.
Watch and see if you don't agree.
Warning: Some of this material may not be suitable for children and I would rate it a PG-13. Proper care should be taken when viewing!

3 C's
1. Consider what matters most
Examine your activties and consider what really matters. Then explore how to have fun without breaking the piggy-bank. As an example, why do you go to the movies? If you love the atmosphere, plot or special effects, then attend an off-peak (cheaper) show. Else, just rent a DVD or borrow it from the library.
2. Cherish the simple things in life
When your neighbors are are driving a new car or buying big screen TVs, it's tempting to reach for our credit cards and improve our living standards too. Americans love instant gratification and keeping up with the Jones.
In this recession, I am humbled to learn that our wealth is actually illusory. It is the simple things in life which ought to be cherished. We should thank God for our hot showers, clean water, food on the table and cosy homes, instead of focusing on our neighbor's latest toys.
Try it out and you will be more contented with your marriage rather than lament about the meagre family budget.
3. Commit to God what's His
The Israelites gave to God the first 10 percent of everything they harvested as they trusted Him to provide the rest. The New Testament remind us that all we have is God's.
The lessons is to give generously and spend wisely. When we invest our time and money in Him, we further appreciate God's abundant provision on earth and learn to share without thinking about rewards.

how the diva got her groove back!

If you saw my post yesterday about the things I've done besides blogging and reading blogs, then you know how crazy I really am. Frankly, I'm surprised you came back after that one. Does that mean, I'm not as crazy as I thought I was, or that you're crazy like me? It's okay, if you don't answer out loud to that one. Those of you who've been with me for a while, know I celebrated my 25th wedding anniversary in Feb. of this year. Some of you may not know, because I never really got a chance to blog about it. Should I go back and do that? Tell me that answer. Anyway, as I was saying, I had a BIG wedding anniversary in Feb. and those of you that know me, know that I wanted a Platinum diamond ring. Yes, I did. You're surprised? News flash, it says, Purple Diva's Diary at the top of this page...I have an image to uphold folks. Again, anyways, so I didn't get it. You're not surprised, are you? Well, frankly I was a little surprised that I DID NOT get it! So, what did I get from my DH instead you ask? I'll tell ya! N-O-T-H-I-N-G! Yep, you got it...nothing, nada, zero. Wait, I forgot, a card! We did go to dinner if you want to count that. Okay, so back to this post. So, I've been trying to think of things I wanted that we could get as a couple. Only thing I've come up with is a new box spring and mattress. Well, my son is getting married in Aug. and we are going to give him the set we have now and replace ours. So, that meant we would need to store it if we got it already. Not a good idea. So, we got nothing. So far.
Well, so then I tried to think of something I could get him. He's the typical male-what do you want-NOTHING. Maybe that's why he got me the same thing he wanted. So, I just gave up and did nothing. UNTIL...last week.
Last week my daughter in nursing school had her spring break. That meant NO BABYSITTING. So, what was I supposed to do? Clean house? NO, surely you jest? A diva? Naw. Not so much. So I did the only thing a diva could do. Shopped and ate out. A LOT. Here's a recap of a little of the damage I did last week to his wallet. But, I did support the economy. You can thank me later.
- Ate out at the following restaurants-Panera Bread, Zapata's Mexican Restaurant, The Cheesecake Factory, Portifino's Italian Restaurant, Harbor Inn Seafood Restaurant, and California Pizza Kitchen. If you would like to know what's good at any of those places, I could help ya with that.
- Purchased the following items for myself in the clothing and shoe departments-6 new pairs of spring pants, 6 spring tops, 2 pair of sandals, a pair of Candies flip flops, 2 pair of Olukai flip flops (wonderful I might add), and a new purse
- Purchased for myself-one new pair of prescription glasses from Lens Crafters. Maybe I'll take a picture and show you
- Purchased for myself-the whole line of face and body products from the Dead Sea Cosmetics (I expect to look younger in 21 days!)
So, that's the real list of what I've been doing.
Been shopping lately? What'd ya buy?

a few of the random things I've done since the last time I did anything
This may or may not be something you are interested in knowing. So feel free to by pass this one and go to another post if you aren't just thrilled with this post!- Plucked at the hairs on my legs till I've made sores in some of the places.
- Peeled dry skin off the bottoms of my feet till I made a sore and had to put medicine on it.
- Played Bejeweled Twist on my laptop about 50 times and made the bottom 4 scores on the leader board.
- Cleaned out my purse.
- Stacked some of the boxes in my collection to make them into a tower.
- Ate 5 jelly beans.
- Took down my Winter Wishes welcome sign and hung my Happy Spring welcome sign.
- Cleaned out the inside of my car so it could be taken to AutoBell.
- Watched 3 birds take a bath in a puddle of water from all the rain we've had.
- Filled up the pill bottle in my purse with more of my pills I take daily.
- Washed the lid to the kitchen trash can about 5 times.
- Cleaned out the old tool turnaround in my kitchen and put out the new one.
- Done my DNA samples so I can determine if I'm a Fraternal twin or Identical one.
See, I've been busy! Don't you feel so happy for knowing how lucky I am?

so here's what I'm thinking...
..that it's been a while since you read anything by me. So I've decided to write to you something, before I hit the sack tonight.
Tomorrow there are lots of funny worthless things posting. That's why I have the label Worthless Wednesday. You can see more of those worthless things if you want by just clicking on that label down at the bottom of my page. Now this is beginning to sound worthless.
At any rate I digress, I thought it's time I come clean with what's been going on in my life a little just in case the 9 of you who are still reading my blog are wondering where I've been and what I've been up to lately. Maybe this will help explain why I haven't been around your page lately and why I have over 1000+ posts in my Google Reader to read. I'm sorry, really I am. I don't want to mark them all read and start over; so for now the number will continue to grow and maybe because of me, Google Reader will have to make a higher number!
So, here's what's going on.
My youngest daughter is in nursing school. She has two children, ages 2.5 years and 10 months. My oldest daughter has been tending them. She has two children herself, ages 5 years and 2.5 years. This combination makes for 3 boys, age 5, and 2-2.5 years and one baby girl, age 10 months.
This is too much for one person to handle by herself, Monday-Friday 7AM-3 PM. So, being the nana to them babies and the mommy to those daughters, I've decided to step in and offer my help.
Let's not forget I still have my part time job as a Support Specialist/Office Manager. I am only contracted to work about 16 hours a week but I can work any combination of hours I need to work. My boss is also very nice to me and allows me to do some of my work at home. This I do when I come home from babysitting.
Along with working my job, I have a teenage soon at home still. He will be 18 the end of April. He's been trying to get his Eagle Project done, and we've just submitted his second attempt at getting a project approved. Once we find out if this one is approved or not, we have until the end of Apr-his 18th birthday to get this project completed. No pressure at all.
Along with that, in our church our youth ages 14-18 attend an early morning religion class. He's fallen short in his attendance this year and in order to graduate from the program, all work has to be made up. Let's just say, there will be constant reminders till the end of the year.
Now, who know what comes up in April every year? Yes, tax time. Do you remember my DH is SELF EMPLOYED? That means we have to have all of the figures entered into the Quickbook program before the END of this week to get it to the accountant. NO PROBLEM. Who do you think will be doing most of that work?
Also in the month of April, is Easter, a daughter's birthday, one of my son's birthday's, a family reunion, and one of my daughters may need a sitter for two days while her DH flies out to look into another job opportunity. Don't even go there with me about what that will mean in my life if they take the job and MOVE! WOW, I can feel the tears building.
Don't even get me started on May and June. The busiest months of my job.
And notice I didn't say anything yet about house cleaning, laundry, or cooking? I throw that in when I can. You can just imagine what my house looks like. Although, I do have to say today, I made a HUGE dent in it and got the laundry caught up again.
So, if you're wondering where I've been, why I haven't been to your blog page lately, I hope this little epistle has helped answer some of those questions.
Thank you for following me, for thinking about me, for reading my sillyness, and leaving me such sweet comments. I think of you all, often, I really do. I miss you all and great big hugs to all of you!
I'll be seeing you...
PS. This was written at 11:30 on Tuesday, 17 March. I was originally going to post it on Wednesday, and then I realized that I had too many things posting on Wednesday. So since Thursday, doesn't have a lot posting, it is posting on Thursday. Hope I didn't mess up your days now! Today is THURSDAY!
