Guys Like That You're Charming

You're the girl most guys can't get out of their heads

Even if they met you on a bad hair day :-)

You just seem to "click" with everyone you meet

So even if a guy forgets about you for a second... his friends haven't!

Your Brain is 80% Female, 20% Male

Your brain leans female

You think with your heart, not your head

Sweet and considerate, you are a giver

But you're tough enough not to let anyone take advantage of you!

Money Saving Tips

For those of you who came here today expecting to find some humor in my The Friday Five post, I am sorry! I thought I would give you something to help you save money today! Apologizes to all those who were wanting to laugh! (You could go through and reread one of my funny post from before...in case you have nothing else to do!)
BTW...this was on AOL a LONG time ago. My oldest daughter, Leah, sent this to me and I have saved it all this time, for a day like today!)

1. Stockpile Sale Items Think of shopping on a 12-week cycle, rather than a weekly one. "We've been taught to make a meal plan for the week, and buy only that," says Teri Gault, founder of the Grocery Game, a program that maximizes consumer savings by matching local supermarket sales with manufacturers' coupons. It's a fine strategy, but you'll save more by stocking up on a three-month supply of whatever's on sale during a given week. "Sale categories rotate," says Gault, "so most items are on sale just once every 12 weeks." Sample Savings: You buy three 24-count packages of Charmin bath tissue when they're on sale at Stop & Shop in Long Island City, N.Y., for $5.99 each. That three-month supply negates the need to buy two packs at the regular price of $9.99. You'll save $12, or 40%.
2. Buy Small Don't assume that the largest size of a given item is always the best deal, says Tawra Kellam, founder of Living on a Dime. Check the per-ounce or per-unit price -- it'll be on the shelf tag -- before you toss an item in your cart. Coupons often make smaller sizes an even better deal, since you'll be getting a heftier percentage off, says Gault. A 25-cent coupon on Gold Medal all-purpose flour is a 10% discount on a $2.55, five-pound bag at Safeway in San Francisco; on the $4.88, 10-pound bag, it's a 5% discount. (Both are three cents per ounce.) Sample Savings: A 15-ounce box of Cheerios is $2.89, or 19 cents per ounce, at Hy-Vee in Des Moines. A 20-ounce box is $3.99, or 20 cents per ounce. You'll save a penny per ounce, or 5%.
3. Watch Out for Pricing Errors It pays to pay attention at the checkout counter. Scanner errors -- i.e., when prices ring up higher or lower than their marked shelf price -- are more common than you think, thanks to store inventories of 40,000-plus items and weekly sale rotations. Price discrepancies in the stores' favor affect 2% of items, costing consumers nearly $2.5 billion annually, according to the National Institute of Standards and Technology, a government agency. Check your supermarket's policy on scanner errors. At the very least, catching an error saves you the difference between the scanned and correct prices. But depending on where you live and the store you shop at, you may be entitled to more. Michigan law mandates that if a consumer is overcharged, he gets a discount on that item worth 10 times the discrepancy, up to $5 total. Food Lion chain stores will give you the incorrectly priced item for free. Sample Savings: Say that $8.99 bottle of olive oil rings up as $9.99. Per Michigan law, catching the error would net you a $5 discount, pricing the bottle at $3.99. You'd save
4. Read the Fine Print When scanning store sale circulars and manufacturer's coupons, most consumers glance at the pictures rather than read the words, says Gault. It's a mistake that could cost you. "What's binding is the wording," she says. "And more often than not, it says 'good on any.'" So while you might not be a fan of say, Froot Loops, read the fine print and you'll find that this coupon is good for any other Kellogg brand as well. A similar thing to watch out for is multiple items for a promotional price -- say, three for $1. Unless the fine print specifies otherwise, you're not required to buy the full amount to get the sale price, she says. Buy one pack of two-for-$5 strawberries, and you'll still get the sale price of $2.50. Sample Savings: A 50-cent manufacturer's coupon bearing a photo of Arm & Hammer's Fridge Fresh Refrigerator Air Filter is actually good for "any Arm & Hammer product." Used on a $2.99 tube of Arm & Hammer Dental Care toothpaste at Shop Rite, you'll save 50 cents, or 17%. $6, or 60%.
5. Skip the Supermarket "Contrary to popular belief, the grocery store is not always the best place to buy food," says Mary Hunt, publisher of Debt-Proof Living, a money-saving newsletter. Prices are often lower at stores where groceries aren't the primary focus -- enabling the store to move a product they might not otherwise sell much of. A few alternatives worth checking out: · Superstores: Shop Wal-Mart, Target and Kmart for snack foods, breakfast cereal and cleaning supplies. Regular prices tend to be lower than in supermarkets, plus these stores are willing to accept competitors' coupons, says Hunt. · Pharmacies and drugstores: The next time you need milk, over-the-counter meds or personal-care products, try your local drugstore. At Rite Aid in Morris Plains, N.J., a 14-count of acid-reflux aid Prilosec is $9.99; at Shop Rite, it's $11.25. · Gas stations: The attached mini-marts can often yield great deals on milk, juice and snacks, says Hunt. · Warehouse clubs: BJ's, Sam's Club and Costco offer the best bargains on spirits, prepared foods and other items. (But be cautious. Not every deal is as good as it seems.) ·
The Web: If you like buying in bulk, consider the grocery section at Amazon.com, says Hunt. There's no sales tax, and most purchases qualify for free shipping. Sample Savings: At Safeway in San Francisco, a half-gallon of skim milk is $2.59; at Walgreens, it's $2.19. You'll save 40 cents, or 15%.

Doctor, Doctor give me the news...

Today I went to the doctor, by myself! (first time in about 4 years!)

So now for your enjoyment, a little of what my visit to the doctor was like...
First I did this...
then about 20 minutes later
she came to get me....
and she...(and it was good)

then she...(but it was fine)
then the dreaded part...(but I lost 9 pounds!)
then the...
took me to the...
Then for 10 minutes I...

until...(physician's practitioner
came in and talked to me for about 30 minutes)
Then she...

and she...

then she...
and she...
and she...and then she left.
Then I...

and I...

Then then finally the...(doctor)
came in.
After she did the same thing
the physicians practitioner did,
which was 15 minutes...then
they decided that I needed an...
(because of my fast heart rate)

so they ran an...
(this is what my legs looked like by the way)

Great I said, I would wear my...

instead of my...

So I got....

and took off...
and ...(for the sake of the
young readers this is
image of what I had to do next
minus the towel and the stones)
Then I did the reverse of the above...
Waited another (10 minutes)

And she came back in...

to do what I was there for in the first place.
Finally, at 1o AM I was able to do this!
Her findings and recommendations:
My EKG was fine. I have to go back next week and have some blood work done. They also found out that my left side of my shoulder is swollen and has a large lump under the skin. I have to have an ultra sound done of that next week as well. She named several things it could be, one of them was some kind of pinched nerves. Oh and I also have something wrong in both ears which she prescribed something for both of my ears.
Results:
You're in pretty good shape for a woman of 56 years old, the doctor said reassuringly. Of course she was misguided...I'm only 48!

Tag Time x's 2!

This time I was tagged by my awesome niece, AP! Since it's her, I am more then glad to answer these! And now the "tagged" answers!

Rules A: Each player answers the questions about themselves.
B: At the end of the post, the player then tags 5 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

What were you doing 10 years ago?

I was teaching seminary for teenage kids 14-18 years old every morning at 5:45 AM, feeling very tired and sleep deprived, and a lot thinner then I am now!

5 things on my "to-do" list today.
1. Wake up, get ready, and be at the doctor's office by 8:15 AM (done!)
2. Go to Home Depot and pick out exterior lighting for the back shed (done!)
3. Go to Lowe's and pick out crown molding and base boards for the LR and hallway (done!)
4. Finish my work I have at home to do for my boss (done!)
5. Watch two of my favorite TV shows tonight. (not done!)

6 Snacks that I enjoy. (are you kidding only 6?-life should be so hard!)
1. Popcorn-the more salt and butter the better...don't care what kind it is...love it all!
2. Jelly Beans-this is a problem because I only like 2 brands-Brach's and Jelly Belly's. Brach's you can only find at Easter time in a FEW stores. Jelly Belly's, I like just a few of the flavors, so I like to order those off line making it not a cheap snack!
3. Crunchy Cheetos! I LOVE these things!
4. Poppy Cock! OH MY WORD. The ones with the good nuts in it! HOLY COW that's good eats!
5. Gummy things...worms, bears, orange slices, Dots
6. Chocolate-I could go crazy and write the rest of this tag about chocolate and the kinds I like...but I won't for space sake!

3 bad habits.
Well, what do you consider bad? Is it what I think is bad or what you think is bad????
My list would go something like this...
Eating too much, drinking too many diet drinks with caffeine when I go out to eat, and not exercising enough.
Your list for me might go something like this...
Blogging too much, plucking my hairs too much, and my OCD! (did I get it right?)
You can pick the list you like best!

If I were suddenly a billionaire I would...
Feed all the starving children in Africa, establish a fund for under privileged students to get a better education, open a shelter for abused children, and build a clinic for the illegal immigrants, oh and have better gun control for parole violators.
OK, so now that I gave you the standard answer...or beauty pageant answer (for you AP), let's see, pay tithing, get out of debt, give all of my kids 100,00 each, and each grandchild 50,000 each, invest, and have a nice house and car! Did I spend it all yet?

5 Places I've lived (not in any particular order)

5 Things people don't know about me
1. I used to work-out at the gym 3 hours a day when I had 4 kids. Two of them went to elementary school and the other two went to pre-school. Can we say..., I was thin then?
2. I used to be called "Wild Thing" by the sales clerk at the Benjamin Moore paint store. He would sing the song, "Wild Thing" by the Troggs, whenever I would walk in the store! (I did look hot...see number 1) It was too funny! Years later I saw him at a Steak House, and he couldn't remember my real name...so he called me...well, you guessed it, WILD THING! (what was embarrassing was he asked my DH who was standing there by me what my real name was 'cause he said, "all I know her by is wild thing! I had some 'splaining to do that night Lucy")
3. I love my Egyptian sheets and towels!
4. I have Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget. (see number 3-I have never had either one these BTW; the champagne and beer, not the sheets and towels...I have them both!)
5. I took a semester class of interior decorating at Queens College. That's why I visited Benjamin Moore Paint store so much! (see number 2)

Wow, I am glad this tag is done...aren't you?
