I almost had it all!

Dang it.

I hate it when I mess up.

And I messed up.

I would have had 30 days of consecutive posts!

But I missed ONE day! ONE DAY!

The 18th of this month, I missed that Tuesday some how.

I looked at my calendar. I don't even have a good reason why I missed that day, either.

Well, hang with me another month. Maybe I will make it next month.

I tried. I really did.

Saturday-Blog Bits

Just some blog bits.

I am tired.
Wanted to do nothing today.
Mostly I did nothing.
I had this for breakfast. Stuffed French Toast Combo. Wonderful!
Had dinner last night from McCormick Schmidt. DELISH!
Need to do laundry. DH's shop towels.
Need to shave my legs. They are hairy.
Should be doing more tax stuff. I got the shop stuff done, need to do personal now.
But I am tired.
I want to do nothing.
So, I am doing nothing.
Except this.
I have been doing this. Blogging.
Reading Blogs.
Posting on Blogs.
Oh, and I have watched 2 movies so far; Monster-In-Law and Runaway Bride.
Watched parts of these too, Castaway, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Sleepless in Seattle, and Black Sheep; they were on TV.
Because I wanted to do nothing.
But my grandson N came.
I did something then.
Hugged, played, and kissed him.
But mostly I was tired.
So, I did mostly nothing.
Until I get ready for bed.
Soon.
Then I will do something.
It's called sleeping.

Don't ask me why I am telling you all of this.
Oh yeah, and one more thing.

Another game comes on tonight!

I am sure MRS. MARCH TO THE MADNESS WILL BE BACK!

Frustration, feeling frustrated and freaking frustrated

If you can stand 5 more today, here are the 5 reasons why my mood today is frustrated:

  1. I didn't get to sleep as long as I wanted to sleep today. My youngest son woke me up early, not once but twice this morning.
  2. I had to work many hours with my daughter trying to get the books for the barber shop ready for the accountant.
  3. My DH didn't bring all the records home with him to complete that task.
  4. My office work has been over whelming today dealing with people that don't know their job and wait for me to have to help them do their job! (And NO, I am not talking about you SH.)
  5. My DH came home from work in a good mood, brought me a wonderful dinner and dessert (which he got for free), and is now sitting watching the dang ball game.

Mrs. March to Madness is about to show her ugly face!

One wild and crazy gal!

As a teenager, I had one wild and crazy girlfriend(and you know who you are!), who brought out the wild and crazy side of me.

Below are 5 things that we did she encouraged me to do she made me do while growing up.

1. She would skip school and come to my house. She would leave her house in her car, then drive to my house and park her car in our backyard so her mom could not see her car when she drove by my house on her way to work. We would hang out all day at my house till it was time for her to “go home from school”. Then she would back her car out of my yard and go home like she spent the whole day at school. I am not sure if her mom knows this yet or not.
2. When we went to the beach together one summer, she made sure to take along her bright neon green bikini. I did not have a, own a, Mom wouldn’t let me wear a bikini, so since my friend had many of them, she would let me borrow that bright neon green bikini. We were not quite the same size in the chest so it was really attractive on me and I am sure I was so happy to show it off.
3. When she spent the night at our house, we got into a lot of mischief on the phone. One of the many famous things she did was to call the local pizza place and make an order to be delivered to a one of the mean girls that went to our Junior High School. The pizza place finally caught on and quit taking the order!
4. Whenever my dad was in town and she was around we always had a good time. He loved watermelons and so did we. We would have a contest spitting watermelon seeds from our patio door to see who could spit them further. Our course we had many watermelon plants come up beside our patio that we had to transplant into the garden.
5. The craziest thing we did was race around the block in our cars. She had a Volkswagen and I had a Ford Falcon. My Falcon had way more power under the hood than her Volkswagen. We would drive around the block racing beside each other day after day. She wanted to win badly!

Looking back at just these few crazy things we did I can’t believe we were never caught by our parents, the cops, or the mean girl!

old body/young soul

13 reasons I know my body is old
  1. I wake up every morning feeling like what I think would be a hang over and I haven't had a thing to drink.
  2. My neck is so sore because I think I pulled a muscle in it; one that I didn't even know I had.
  3. My back hurts so bad from the hours it just endured sleeping on a memory foam mattress.
  4. The knees ache as if they just ran a 15 mile marathon and they've barely made it to the kitchen and back the day before.
  5. First thing I do when my eyes open is grab the pill bottle with some water, and down the hatch it goes.
  6. After swallowing the pill, limp to the potty so that there's not a flood on the floor.
  7. My elbows sting as if I just played in a tennis tournament with Anna Kournicova even though I haven't picked up a tennis racket in over 30 years.
  8. Cotton mouth is so bad that I need to wet my lips in order to pry them apart.
  9. Opening my eyes is not easy due in part to the large amount of white crust that has formed around on the eyelashes.
  10. Sleeping 13 hours feels like I just closed my eyes seconds ago.
  11. The craps in my feet hurt so bad it feels like my socks are ice packs.
  12. Now I have to pat things down on the night stand to find my glasses cause trying to find them with just my eyes is pointless.
  13. I go to get out of bed and I hear "snap", "crackle", and "pop" and there is no bowl of cereal anywhere around.

Yes, the soul inside of me is younger than my body. I can just tell the soul that's attached to this body is just dying to get out.

Ok, hopefully not anytime soon.

Not human years...

I just found this neat stupid thing to do.

And I think I have solved my mystery of being so tired. all. the time.
When I took this quiz, I found out how old I am; in planet years.

And it's not pretty.

I am 199.23 years old on Mercury! In Venus years, I am 72.15 years old! Diva Detective at work again.

Heck, if I were a dog, I would be 205 years old. Now that's really old.

This could explain a lot of things.

Like, why I am in so much pain very day. (old people hurt) Or why my brain has such a hard time concentrating on things. (old people forget a lot of things) Even could explain why I want to just lay down anywhere at any time. (old people can fall asleep anywhere any time.) Maybe even why I like to be rubbed massaged. (old people need their bodies in good working order.)

It's been said:

You're only as old as you feel.

Hang on while I check.

Yep, I feel old.

Coming out of the fog

Today, for some reason, the fog has lifted. I can see again.

I can even think clearly.

Maybe it's because of the all the sleep I have had the last week and the fact that I have done very little.

I didn't wake up until almost 11:00 AM, though. I tried to wake up several times before that, but just could not hold my eyes open.

But I stayed awake at 11.

All day.

I even got out of bed then.

And I haven't been tired.

All Day.

And I worked and cleaned and cooked.

All day.

I haven't been back to bed yet.

Not once.

I was focused.

Determined to get things done.

I even did laundry. All of it!

Took care of tax things for the shop.

Wrote out bills.

Paid bills online. There is a difference.

Talked on the phone to my boss (3 times) and my nieces, AP, AC, and JC.

Talked to my daughters C and C.

Ordered some vitamins online.

Wrote out letters I needed to write, 10 of them to be exact.

Answered emails.

Wrote emails.

Personal ones and work ones.

I even got to talk to my DH for all of 45 seconds on the phone. (He was busy)

I did all of this and only had ONE Diet Pepsi.

I did have some chocolate, though. A few pieces. Ok, maybe more then a few. But they were all mini's. I promise. Those don't count.

Ok, so it's time now to post this.

Before the tiredness hits me.

After all a 9 hour day is a long day.

Brothers, sweet brothers

Frequently asked Q&A

For a few days I have been asked several questions which have been left unanswered…

…Until now.

For those of you with inquiring minds, this post is for you.

How is the house coming along? I am very happy with the progress so far.
The TV is in the kitchen. It was so wonderful to sit and eat breakfast and watch GMA this morning. It was also nice to sit and eat dinner in the kitchen tonight and not miss any of AI. I think even DH liked it more today; although, yesterday he was not that happy about it. (one thing he said it was too small. When I told him how much the one I wanted was, he changed his mind!) Once he finds out that he can not only watch TV, or a DVD, he can also listen to his music while he eats. It will grow on him, I know it will. The chairs to the kitchen table also got felt pads put on the chair leg bottoms to keep them from scratching the new floor. One of the girls said the other day, they can't believe they are walking around in my house!
The new shed is also coming along too. It will be so nice when it's done so I can clean up some of the mess that's all over the back yard, that before now, I haven't really had any where to store it out of the way. The workers are not working this week, so there won't be any new changes done this week. *sign*
What was the DH upset about yesterday? Money, it's always about money. When he comes home and sees new things in the house (like the TV), he stresses. He even wanted to know how much it cost. When I told him he was shocked. (Remember, I did get it on clearance at Target!)

Why aren't there pictures of all of my grand kids in their Easter outfits? My granddaughter was running a fever on Saturday night and they weren't able to get up in time to get dressed and get to church. K is going to take their pictures in their clothes and send them out later, though she said!
How did it go meeting the parents of my oldest sons girlfriend? It went really well. They are really nice and we had a nice conversation.
Why did you get 15 bags of jelly beans on Monday in the mail? I ordered them before Easter from my favorite online drugstore and they didn't get here when they were supposed to get here, before Easter! So, I had to pass them out yesterday to everyone who was at the house. Don't worry, I did save a few bags for me!
What was DH in such a good mood about on Sunday? I am not sure what made him so happy, but he was in a really good mood, even though he got home at 1:30 AM on Sunday morning. We got up at 8:30 and got ready for church, he even styled my hair. (He is a Barber/Stylist. He does such a good job on my hair. When we were first married he styled my hair for me EVERY, did I say, EVERY DAY for I don't know HOW many years. When I worked and when I didn't work. Just to go to the gym he would do my hair for me...EVERY DAY. Other women were so JEALOUS that I ALWAYS had beautiful hair-EVERY DAY! I tease him and tell him he married me because he like how thick my hair was and that he could do a good job of styling it!) Did you get it that he styled my hair on Sunday before we went to church? Okay, so we go to church he comes home with me EARLY and HELPS me cook lunch for everyone. HE HELPED ME. HE REALLY HELPED me! He stayed right to the end. He even helped clean up and was HAPPY about it. He even let me take a NAP! At any rate, he was in a really really good mood, which I was SO thankful about! Disclaimer: Before you send me messages, wanting to know how he can help your husband, he hasn't been that happy since Sunday! I guess it's true what the Easter bunny said, I can't have my cake and eat it too! Oh wait, wrong person, I mean, Don't put all my eggs in one basket!
What box did you clean out? It was a box from the old computer desk that just needed to be gone through and organized and put in the new desk. It really didn't take me that long, if it had, I wouldn't have done it. Which brings me to the next question.
Why are you sleeping so much? I really have NO idea, but I would sure like to know. I called the doctor last week and told them how much I was sleeping and asked if they could change the med's and she said NO. So, I am stuck with this for another 3 weeks. I have never been SO tired in my life. I feel like I have a drug overdose everyday; like when you are drugged with some heavy pain pills and you try your best to wake up, and you can't. I slept 13 hours from Sunday night to Monday morning. I did wake up but was wasted most of the day. I don't even have energy to do the laundry! Last night I slept from12:30 AM till 6 AM but fell back asleep until 6:45 AM when I got up and made my DH breakfast.(trying to make him Happy again!) I stayed awake till around 10:00 AM, when I fell back to sleep and got woke up around 12:00PM when my youngest son came in my room. I was awake but in bed most of the day due to being so washed out I couldn't move. I think I fell asleep for another hour this afternoon. My oldest daughter made a WONDERFUL dinner tonight for us and some strawberry bread (that was out of this world!) I was oh so thankful she did, cause I did not have the energy to make any dinner for ANYONE.
I believe this brings me to the end of this post. I did get my new laptop. I haven't been on it yet, so I can't tell you if I like it or not. I has Vista on it, which I am afraid I am going to have to get adjusted to using.
I just remembered, I got two more packages in the mail today that I haven't even looked at to see what's waiting for me inside. I did some shopping online a few weeks back, but don't remember what all I bought! (Don't say a word!)
Well, it's now 11:30PM. Yes, I am sleepy. I feel like I could sleep another 13 hours.
I sure hope not, though.
I sure don't get anything done when I sleep that long.
Except sleep!

Apparently...

Your EQ is 140
You are remarkable when it comes to relating with others. Only the biggest losers get under your skin.

You are warm and open. Even when life gets you down, you're unafraid of the world and its challenges.
You are comfortable with who you are. And you accept your weaknesses - as well as the weaknesses of others.

While you are quite stable, you don't respond perfectly to every bad situation that comes up.
But you have enough emotional intelligence to know when you need a course correction.

Baby, oh Baby!

See what he has in his hand...it's his ball! He's ready to play!

My youngest daughter, who has my next granddaughter in that belly!

What I would have said if...

...only had the time.

Ok, this is going to be fast since there is only 15 minutes left of this Monday, the day after Easter 2008.

If I had time I would tell you about...

My new TV that got put up today in the kitchen and what DH said about that.

My new laptop that got here today.

Meeting my oldest son's girlfriends parents yesterday.

The good mood my DH was in yesterday.

The bad mood my DH was in today.

The box I cleaned out today of odds and ends.

The pictures my oldest daughter sent me this morning through email.

The 13 hours I slept last night.

The effects of my new thyroid medicine.

The 15 bags of jelly bellys that came in the mail today, the day after Easter.

BUT, gee, looks like I don't have time for any of this today.

I've been busy today doing other things...mostly talking on the phone, answering emails, cooking dinner for everyone and cleaning it up, and reading other blogs; of course, I had time for that.

So, there's no time for me to write about all those things I would have written about, if of course I had time.

But I don't.

So, I won't.

Today.

Tomorrow's a new day though!

On the road again...

I just can't wait for him to be home again!
He is on his way home...tonight. About 30 minutes ago he was still 114 miles from home.
It's now after midnight.
But he's on his way home.
He said he wanted to be here to go to church with his family today...
Easter Sunday.
I am so glad he is coming home.
He knew it was important to me to be home today.
I am so glad.
He went to his reunion for about 2 hours.
Went to see his niece, and his grand nieces.
Went to get his oysters by the sea with his brother.
And now he is driving home.
To be with us.

It's a Happy Easter.

If you haven't read this; it will explain everything.

What's on the menu?

Tomorrow is Easter.
Another wonderful time to share with friends and family.
Thankfully, my house is in good enough shape that I can have my family over tomorrow to eat.

Here's what's on the menu...
Spiral Sliced Ham
Deviled Eggs
Shoe peg Corn
Peas Please
Mac and Cheese, I hope
Green Bean Casserole
Mashed Potatoes
Gravy
Easter Cupcakes
Cherry Dump Cake

I am hoping to also have some Eastern Style Bar_B-Que. I asked my DH to bring some home from down east and hopefully he will remember and be here in time to have some to eat tomorrow.

What's cooking at your house for dinner/lunch?

My confessions of being unbalanced!

This book was given to me by my niece AP for Christmas 2007. Until today, I had not read the little simple easy to read 58 page book.
I am sorry I haven't read it before now.
It was WONDERFUL, funny, witty, and practical.
I swear this lady wrote this book for me!
It starts out with her talking about sorting men's socks. Being that I have a house full of men right now, 3 of them being teenage boys, sorting and matching their socks drive me CRAZY! Right now I think I have about 14 socks without a mate to them. No LIE! I have NO idea what they do with the other one.
At any rate, the author remains happily unbalanced and says she learned there is something better than being balanced. Thank goodness!
I will forever be unbalanced now and not worry about trying to get balanced.
I am so thankful to you, AP, for giving me this wonderful gift.
Just in time for Easter too. Thanks for encouraging me to read it today and then write about it too!
I don't want to tell the rest of you, (AP already read it), more about the book because it's only 58 small little pages to read and if I told you more, you would know the whole book.
Either you will have to buy one for yourself, get AP to get you one, or wait till someone like me gives it to you as a gift!
I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for any of these to happen. It's worth the money.
Now go, hurry get online and find it!

Beneath the buried papers…

I found the $25 I-tunes gift card that my niece AP gave me for Christmas. I used some of it today to get me some new music. Thanks AP! It was a nice surprise. (By the way Subee, you gave me one too which I appreciate. I used that one a LONG time ago)
I found the book, Confessions of an Unbalanced Woman, nice card, and the wonderful bookmarks, that AP also gave me for Christmas. It was like a whole new treasure I found!
I found the $25 gift card to Walden Books that one of my DH’s clients gave him for Christmas. He told me I could use it when he got it since he is not a reader. I have TOO many wonderful books that I haven’t even read yet, so I used it to get me some new DVD’s. I got The Wedding Planner, While you were Sleeping, Runaway Bride, Monster-in-law, Just like Heaven, and Steel Magnolias. I can’t wait till they get here next week. That was more than $25 by the way, just in case you were wondering.
(These things were all together so it was like getting presents at Christmas all over again!)

I found a new long sleeve shirt still in the plastic, for my DH to wear to his reunion today that had never been worn. He wanted a nice long sleeve shirt to wear today and there it was!
I found a package of nice initial handkerchiefs for my DH too. I opened them and he took them with him.
I found the two brand new shirts for me that I forgot I had or even bought. One of them I think I will wear with a brand new skirt I have never worn before, to church tomorrow. Maybe one of my rings too!
I found the detail list of the products sold in the barber shop from last quarter. This was huge, because I needed that list for the accountant and I have been looking for it all week. That was an answer to a prayer.
I found three neat magazines I had been saving to read. I forgot I had them. I am glad I found them!
I found the receipt I was looking for to order J some more contacts.
I found 2 movies that I had borrowed from my youngest daughter, C, that I thought I had already returned to her a long time ago.

Sadly, what I still have not found are those 2 $50 Visa gift cards I got last year for the cell phone rebates.
Maybe they are buried in another room under another pile of papers.

I sure hope so. It’s never too late for a miracle, you know.
Have you found anything beneath the buried papers recently?

This week in review

In random order, because my brain is not functioning at normal capacity this morning; this is due to the following, a) I went to bed at 12:30 AM and got woke up by DH when he shut the door hard leaving our bedroom at 5:50 AM, b) I haven't had any diet Pepsi yet, and c) I am sad my DH is gone...
Ok, sorry got off an a tangent...
Like I was about to say, here is my week in review, things I haven't posted about already.

My youngest son, C, got a job at a local movie theater. His first night was last night, 6:00 PM till 12:30 AM. He works today again the same hours. They have him scheduled to work tomorrow, Easter Sunday from 11:00 AM till 6:00 PM. I hope he gets out of it.

I am cooking Easter dinner tomorrow. We invited J's brother to eat with us. He went to Atlanta today with K and D B to go to the temple. He spent the night here last night.

We have another HUGE storage building. This one belongs to the family! It's 12x12. It's so nice. Them pups think it's another house for them. Every thing is just about done with the exception of the rest of the shingles on the roof, shelves inside, and the door with locks.

Speaking of pups. Both of the were doing good about sleeping in their hound house earlier in the week. The last two nights Shelby, has been in the old storage building that is about to be torn down. We don't know if Starr kicked her out of their hound house or what.

The invitations went out for my youngest daughter, C's baby shower. My daughter, K, made them. I had fun working on the decorations for that shower. The theme is April showers bring May flowers!
The baby girl is due in May and her baby shower is in Apr. The flower for the month of May is Lily of the Valley. I ask C why she didn't name her Lily! Lily May to be exact! I doubt she will, and I was in a way just kidding. I just thought it was clever.

I cleaned off the top of DH's dresser this AM and hung up clothes in his closet and picked some things off the floor by my dresser. It didn't make a dent in what needs to be done in this room.

I picked out the color of paints we are going to paint the exterior of the house. Vanilla Cone for the big places, Rusty Red for the doors and shutters, and Ultra White for the trim.

I also picked out the new gutters.

Since taking my new medicine for my thyroid, I have discovered a few things:

  • I am not craving ice as much to crunch
  • I am not as hungry
  • I get lightheaded really easy whenever I get up too fast

The new Embrace Razor is still just so wonderful. I think you should all get one.

I have a new laptop coming next week. No one helped me chose the options. I hope it's going to be good.

My oldest son bought the movie, I am Legend, last night at Target. He thought I would like it. After an hour or more of watching it, I did not like it and turned it off.

I can't believe what happened on Lost this week. I can't believe how long it's going to be before it comes back on so we can find out more.

I was happy Amanda got voted off of AI this week. She had to go! I was sick of seeing her tongue and her hair!

It's been over a week and my oldest son, C, has not heard back from the doctor's office about his blood test he had over a week ago. He called yesterday, and the phone kept being busy, so he never got through.

DH discovered I didn't spend all of his money he has saved, YET! He was happy about that! For now at least.

The girls he thought were going to come to work for him at his shop never called him this week even after he left them voice messages. Doesn't look as promising as he thought.

His cold is about over. Thank goodness. He sure loves to whine when he is sick!

The cat is making me madder. She has more scratches on my couch. If one day she is missing, don't ask why!

This year I didn't buy anything new to wear for Easter for me, my DH, or my boys. I don't know the last time I didn't do that. Guess it must be because of the money we are spending on this house.

One of my rings I used to wear almost fits my left ring finger, again. I haven't been able to wear any of my rings for a year or more.

Ok, so this list is long enough for you to read. I can't think of anything else to add. Remember my brain isn't working yet.

Hope it kicks in sometime today. I'm sure I will need it later!

I know you are...but what am I.

Ok so he's gone. He left me. The DH left me. It's Easter weekend and he left me.

I am sad.

The only thing I want to do is nothing. And I am content right now doing nothing. Even though I have lots to do.

But he left me. Already, he left me. He's already been gone an hour.

He's gone to see his 'family' for the weekend. I LOVE his family. I really do. I just hate that he left me.

And that it's Easter.

He left to go to his family reunion about 4 hours away. I want him to see his family.

But who are we?

And did I mention it's Easter?

He will also see his brother. His only brother, who he just got to see a couple of weeks ago.

He wanted me to go with him.

But my grand babies and children are here.

Every one will be here except papa.

Even my daughter and her family from TN are in town.

We're all here.

I begged him not to go, but it didn't work.

I for one am going to miss him being here with us...

his family.

All in a Day's work.

Wonder what made me want to do this list today?

Hmm, gee, I can't think of anything.

Can you?

Nope, me either.

Not one thing comes to my mind that would make me think of doing this list.

Ok, maybe one.

1. Number of jobs you've held.
Let's see, Avon, Wendy's, house cleaner, Credit Investigator and Insurance Clerk for the AZ Bank, Dealer Contract office, Mom, Insurance Agent, Sales clerk for clothing store, Custom Designer for Home Interior Company, my current job, Support Specialist.

2. Your biggest raise, by percent. I have no idea!

3. Have you ever quit?. Yes. I quit Avon and Wendy's and House Cleaner all at the same time when I moved to AZ. I quit the AZ bank because I was pregnant. I quit the clothing store to take the job at the Decorator place. I quit the Decorator place because my mom was so sick. By the way, when I quit the clothing store, shortly after that they went out of business. When I quit the Decorator place they went out of business too. I was by the way, their top salesperson! Both places wanted me to be the manager and I turned them both down because of the hours involved. So, far I have not quit the current job. I may be forced too though!

4. Have you ever been fired? No, not once!

5. Your worst mistake on the job. Doing my job so fast each day and sitting there having nothing to do the rest of the day. Talking to long to customers!

Side note...the paralegal thing I wanted to do as a teenager, my dad said if I ever did become an attorney, I could talk an innocent person into saying they did it! And he said about my sales ability, that I could sell a refrigerator to an Eskimo in an igloo.

Celebrating the number 100!

THIS IS IT! I made it to my 100th post today, 21 Mar 2008.
So in honor of that, here now is a list of 100 things about me you may or may not know, or care to know after you read this! Just random things...

  1. I am the youngest of 6 children.
  2. I am the youngest between my twin sister and I.
  3. I have only one brother.

The best things in life I learned from the Easter Bunny!

Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Everyone needs a friend who is all ears. There's no such thing as too much candy. All work and no play can make you a basket case.
A cute tail attracts a lot of attention. Everyone is entitled to a bad hare day. Let happy thoughts multiply like rabbits. Some body parts should be floppy. Keep your paws off of other people's jelly beans. Good things come in small, sugar coated packages. The grass is always greener in someone else's basket. To show your true colors, you have to come out of the shell. The best things in life are still sweet and gooey.

May the joy of the season fill your heart.
Happy Easter!

Spring Sayings.

Well, we’re here. Spring. Even if it is still cold where you live no one can take away the fact that winter is finally, officially, unquestionably over.

I was trying to put my joy into words, but then realized why bother! There are so many people who’ve already said such profound things about the season. So, I did some research and thought I’d share what I found with you.

Here are a few spring sayings I’ve sure you’ve heard:

Spring has sprung-Yes, today since it’s the first day of spring, it’s sprung!

No spring chicken- This is certainly me. Here’s a little info on where this came from…
A young person. The phrase is usually found in the negative, as 'She's no spring chicken.' The implication is that she has reached an age when she is no longer a chick. A spring chicken is a young fowl ready for eating, which was originally in the spring. The expression is of US origin and dates from the early years of the 20th century. From _Brewer's Dictionary of Modern Phrase & Fable_ (2000) by Adrian Room

Spring cleaning-Well, I don’t know about you, but it is time I got really busy on this one.

Put a little spring into your step-This would be what you would have probably wanted to say to me yesterday.

Spring break-Yes, some kids are having theirs right now. I saw on GMA today that there are lots of college kids headed to Florida. I never did this. And neither have my kids…so far and thank goodness.

Spring Fever-This would be what I felt like today, except I had to be in the meeting most of my day today!

Now for a list of ones you may not have heard…

The many things of spring…I guess this would be flowers, birds, rain, humidity, and BUGS!

Spring has returned. Yep it has and aren’t we all glad.

Sweet April showers do spring May flowers. Thomas Tusser I have heard a version of this before, April showers bring May flowers. Maybe they got it from Thomas.

Spring, its hay fever season!-Boy if you have allergies, you sure know about this one.

No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow. –Proverb Well, I guess that would be so, cause aren’t the seasons… winter, spring, summer or fall…all you have to do is call. Oh, wait, that’s a song. Wonder if they heard this song and wrote that Proverb?

Spring is sooner realized by plants than by men.-Chinese Proverb-Well, hmm, don’t know what them Chinese men were doing that the plants re
alized it first!

Spring is when you feel like whistling even with a shoe full of slush.-Doug Larson-I am not so sure about this one…ever had a shoe full of slush and thought, gee, I’ll whistle, I’m so happy!

Ok, so that’s my spring list today for Thirteen Thursday.

Got any I missed?

A New Day has Come!

This post is for those of you who read my blog from yesterday, about being tired and having to meet with my BIG boss today.
I am happy to report that he did not find me doing this!

Here's a little of the meeting....

We went into our conference room to have a "talk"; the BIG boss, the little boss and me.
(that's me and my little boss sitting across from the BIG boss!)
The big boss sitting across from me looking a little like this..
that made me look a little like this...
because he kept doing this.
Before long, I did this. (I did this for a long time.)
And if I had one of these, this is what I would have been doing.
If I could have done this.... I would have.
Pretty soon I was doing this....

but inside myself I was not feeling the meeting was going very well.

At times, I felt like I needed to do this.

And there was one time, I really wanted to do this!
All because I DO THIS!
And not MUCH of this!
The more he said that, the more I wanted to...

I finally had to resolve that this was going nowhere
and so I had to take this attitude.

He left looking like this.
The outcome of the meeting...
My big boss is going to "proceed for now", with me there.
But after the big boss left...
My little boss was happy I stood my ground.
He told me to continue to stand my ground.
We'll see how long that takes me, since my little boss is retiring in July.
