Happy Birthday to my baby boy!

17 years ago, after 16 hours of labor,I had to have a c-section to bring this young man, my baby boy, into this world!
He is such a romantic at heart as you can see by these pictures that were taken for his girl friend for Valentine's Day this year.
Happy Birthday to my baby boy!

The color purple

Purple is formed by mixing the primary colors red and blue in varying proportions, with possibly a very small quantity of the third primary color (green for light or yellow for pigment).

Purple is the color of good judgment. It is the color of people seeking spiritual fulfillment. It is said if you surround yourself with purple you will have peace of mind. Purple is a good color to use in meditation.

Purple has been used to symbolize magic and mystery, as well as royalty. Being the combination of red and blue, the warmest and coolest colors, purple is believed to be the ideal color. Most children love the color purple. Purple is the color most favored by artists. Thursday's color is purple.

And now, 5 things that I recently bought that are the color purple.

And, I am by the way, apologetically purple.

The only thing that looks good on me...

While I will be the first to admit and this might come back to bite me in the butt at some later time, and may come to a shock to most of you readers, I am not a fashion idol, icon, or model. If you want to see the latest trends in fashion you probably will not find much any on this body and should consult the latest fashion magazine for the current trends in fashion. I will occasionally take off my Lands End night gown and flip flops and exchange it for something that I can wear outside the house; if I am going out in public. Most days if you see me out, you will find me in the same pants I had on the week before, (but don't worry they are clean), and a fresh new cotton top.
I thought it may be a neat idea to help you recognize me in public by giving you an idea of what NOT to look for in case you and I were ever in the same store, mall,Target.

Here now are my list of 13 things you will NEVER see adorned with on or near my body in any way, shape, form, or fashion.
1. Red Lipstick. While I think this person's lips look very attractive in this photo, I am afraid if you saw me with this color on my lips you may think I was a clown escapee from the circus in town.

2. Body piercings, in this case tongue. I have one piercing on my body, my ear lope, and that's the way it is and will be.

3. Body tattoos. I like art, on a canvas, in a painting, on a wall, and in a potrait; not on a person's body.

4.Spiked Blue Hair. If you see this style hair on a lady, you can immediately know this will not be me and walk on by.

5. Cat rim frames. Cat eyes look good on cats and that's who should wear them.

6.Mini skirts. My ex said to me one time, "don't you wish you could run around the block and look like (*#&%&$-that's my name for her), and have long skinny legs". I said, "I didn't have LONG SKINNY LEGS when you married me"! (see why he's my EX!) I still don't!

7. Boots. Not black boots, nor lace boots, nor short boots, nor high boots will you ever see on these legs!

8. A lady in high heels carrying shopping bags. When you see this lady, you can again be rest assured this is not me. Me and heels do not go together, with or without shopping bags.
9. Fish net stockings. I tired ONE time to wear them when I was REALLY young. Notice I said, TRIED. It felt like I was putting sand paper on my legs.
10. A Bikini. When I was a size 5, you would have seen me ONCE in a bikini. In my life, I think that's the only time one has ever been on my body. There is a reason for this, I am SHORT and stout and proud of that!
11. Thong jeans. Supposedly this is the new trend. WHAT? Who wants to wear pants in their BUTT all day? Not me!
12. A Thong. Self potrait here. (just kidding) Look at her face. My feelings exactly. Again I ask, why?
13. Female dominatrix with whip. While I realize there are some men who may get into this whole outfit, my DH does not so therefore, I do not have to put on a uniform, such as this one, to entertain him. Notice she has on a mini skirt, boots, and fishnet stockings. I don't do any of those!

I hope this posting has given you somewhat of an idea as to what to look for when you're out and about looking for me.
Any questions?

Storage Shed: Pictures and More

Can you believe it? The other storage shed is done. If you remember, from reading my posts, I had one built just for me and my things; smaller then this one pictured. This one is for my DH.

Which really makes no sense. Him to have a bigger one then mine, I mean after all a girl always has more stuff, right?

This is good news to me because I can he and the boys can, move HIS stuff out of MY shed, so that I can store MY stuff in MY shed and he can store HIS stuff in HIS shed!

My shed has the good things in it, the important things like cooking appliances that are too large and take up too much room in my kitchen, left over party supplies such as napkins, forks, plates, plastic tablecloths of all colors, centerpieces for parties, wedding supplies from 3 daughters weddings which includes but is not limited to serving pieces, and tons of white linen table cloths, luggage for the whole family, gifts for the grand kids birthdays and other holidays (you know I can't pass up a deal), wrapping paper for all occassions, ribbons and bows, gift boxes, and gift bags, and many other important things a woman just can't live without.

His shed will house the nonessential things like 2 lawn mowers (in case one breaks down), rakes, leaf blowers, ice chests, shovels, tools, camping equipment, and other nonessential things. (see my list is even longer?)

See why HIS shed is bigger now?

I don't!

I wanna talk about me, me, me...

Lisa, over here had this great post today! So, I borrowed it from her! Hope you enjoy! Thanks Lisa!

Where is your cell phone? It’s sitting right here beside me on the chaise lounge. I don’t go anywhere or do anything without it!
Your significant other? At his shop working.
Your hair? Looks horrible, I need to take a shower which I haven’t done yet today!
Your mother? In Heaven, God rest her soul.
Your father? With my mother, in Heaven. God rest his soul.
Your favorite thing? Just one? I can’t do just one. But if I had to say one, which I will only say one thing, since it said thing, then it would be Peace!
Your dream last night? I remembered this morning, but don’t know exactly right now. Something to do with glass breaking for some reason and when I walked into the room where my chaise lounge is, I saw a sparkling thing on the carpet that looked like glass and it reminded me of the dream again. It wasn’t glass by the way, not sure what is was.
Your favorite drink? Water if I drink it! But my favorite soda would be diet Pepsi if I have a choice.
Your dream/goal? To get my sons raised and out of the house!
The room you’re in? The LR and it's clean!
Your ex? Is NOT a nice guy. I have many names for him, but I will spare each of you those thoughts!
Your fear? Being older and not able to do things.
Where do you want to be in 6 years? In a mental institution if I don’t get the boys raised and out of the house!
Where were you last night? Home with my DH.
What you’re not? Skinny! (See, I told you!)

Muffins? Oh I love them! The bakery kind with the crumbles on top is my favorite.
One of your wish list items? Another one thing! Hmm, to get out of debt!
Where you grew up? That would be in the good old Queen City of North Carolina. Things were different way back when!
The last thing you did? I looked through the mail that just came. It’s all trash!
What are you wearing? Nightgown. I need a shower, remember!
Your TV? Which one? There is one in every room; although it is never on in the daytime unless my twin is in town or my grand kids are over. It comes on at 8 every night though!
Your pets? 2 dogs; A black full blooded Lab who is 8 years old and 4 year old blonde Lab. And a cat who I have no idea how old she is since she just took up residence here one day!
Your computer? 2 laptops and two desktops. My favorite is the new Dell Laptop XPS. Not because it’s better than the others, just because it’s MINE.
Your life? Busy always busy.
Your mood? Bloggy!
Missing someone? Again, one thing...now it’s person...hmmm-I can’t name SOMEONE. So it’s double...parents!
Your car? Gray Toyota Camry. I love that car.
Something you’re not wearing? Jewelry, shoes, socks, or a bra! For obvious reasons no bra! If you missed why, read above and figure it out! Socks, I NEVER WEAR! Shoes, hardly ever unless its flip flops. And jewelry because this fat little momma has put on too much weight to wear any of her beautiful bling on her fingers! At least I can wear my necklace and earrings, which never comes off!
Favorite store? NOT AGAIN! ONE...how about 20! But since it’s only one...TARGET if I am shopping in a store...online, Amazon.com
Your summer? Will be really busy with a new granddaughter,my boss retiring and a new boss taking over!
Like someone? WHAT IS IT WITH THIS ONE THING! Ok, yes, I like someone. I like lots of someones! ALL OF YOU SOMEONES!
Your favorite color? If you haven’t noticed the colors on my blog page, or my signature name for comments, then I will help you out...purple! BUT, I wear a LOT OF BLACK. With purple of course! (See my new flip flops I got!)
When is the last time you laughed? A few minutes ago when I talked to my boss on the phone.
Last time you cried? This is easy. If you saw my “how emotional am I post, it said 55%! That would be correct. I cried Sunday, over what my teenage son said to me and his papa. Sometimes he can be so disrespectful.
Who will repost this? I am not sure. But if you do, please let me know so I can read your answers!

Revision of the weeping, crying and wailing

I would like to answer a few of the comments about this post.

Do you have a schedule? Music time? I spent about 3 hours on Saturday night working on a lesson, finding coloring pages, an activity, and making a handout for them to take home to reinforce the lesson that I had prepared. I even had a visual aid to go with the lesson. I had printed off about 15 pages of songs to sing, and tried several times to sing songs and all they did was look at me like I was crazy! I had a schedule all planned out. All of that went down the drain when the door kept opening and closing, the babies kept weeping, crying, and wailing, and some of the kids were getting into spats over toys.

Hmm.... Is there a way you can maybe put a sign on the door to tell them not to keep opening the door so much? There is already a sign on the door to the parents that says something about please do not come in and check on your child. It's red! BUT that wasn't the issue! I had one person coming in that didn't even have a child in the nursery; a leader coming in to check on things; an aunt, her husband, and mother of the husband of a child that wasn't even 18 months old come in to leave her; another mother come in with her son, she left, and then the husband came in, he left and then came back in; another mother that came in 4 times to try to get her son to stay in the class-each time he was screaming his head off and throwing a fit; and then another mother that came in with her son about the last 35 minutes of class. So, the parents coming in to check on their child is not really the issue!

Can someone guard the door so they door didn't open so much? I would so love that and IF I could get away with it I would! I wish I could lock the door even! I wish I could impose a time to have the chikd in there and if they werern' in there, then the child couldn't come to class that Sunday. I wish I had a small window in the door for them to see in, or a peep hole or something. As I mention above it's not really parents checking on their kids that are in there. It's other people coming in and out at different times doing different things. I don't know how I can solve that problem!

"the ole grey mare just ain't what she used to be." No, she ain't! That's for dang sure! I am STILL SORE from sitting on the floor the whole time yesterday!

I ordered more toys online tonight. I realized that the toys I had weren't enough and they made too big of a mess. I bought toys that don't have parts. They loved the music toys so I got more of those. I am hoping in a few more weeks when they get more used to me they will let me put them down so that I will be able to do the schedule I so badly want to do! I do have tricks up my sleeve! Thanks to each of you for the kind words encouraging me and cheering me along!

Ok, now I need your help. I need some music for them on a CD. Some silly active songs designed for their age. Are there any suggestions you have to help me with the music part?

I don't want them to have to hear my voice every week! I don't want to run them off!

Any ideas?

Me,the DH,and the Weeping, Crying, and Wailing

Today was my first Sunday in the nursery with small children; toddlers in between the ages of 18 months and almost 2 years old.

I had 6 of them in there today for the whole hour and 45 minutes, with 4 other guests, that did not want to stay! They were what I call "triers", they tired it!

Not by myself, thank goodness. My DH was in there the whole time with me. Along with him was a father of one of the girls, a lady who was just in there, and 2 other mothers and another father. Not all at the same time. Which meant the door kept getting opened and closed, a lot.

Which meant, one would go to weeping, another would start crying, and another would be wailing.

And they wept.

And they cried.

AND THEY WAILED.

There were 4 of them who took turns weeping, crying, and wailing. I had 3 of them on my lap on the floor trying to comfort them and the father had his own daughter. My DH would blow bubbles, juggle balls, do a dance, sing a song, or start clapping his hands. To make them stop of course.

And they would, until...

the door opened again.

So they wept and they cried and they wailed. Again.

And then DH would do his tricks. And they would stop. Again.

UNTIL...

THE DOOR OPENED AGAIN.

So they wept, cried and wailed.

In the entire time we were in there today, the door opened 20 times. (I know cause I counted.)

Which means they wept, cried or wailed 20 times. 4 of them at a time.

So, I sat the entire. time. on. the. floor. with 3 of them on my lap.

I was dripping with sweat, tired, thirsty, and sore when I left there today.

When they all left they were tired from weeping, crying, wailing, oh and of course playing.

So they all went home and took a nap, including my DH who went to bed before 9 PM tonight, cause he said, it wore him out blowing bubbles, juggling balls, singing, dancing, and clapping his hands.

At least we both have another week to rest up, think of more tricks, games, and gather more toys.

Before we face the weepers, criers, and the wailers.

20 things you always wanted to know...well not really!

1. What ever happened with the cat clawing the new sectional? Nothing! She is still here with her claws intact making more marks on my couch. I don’t know what I am going to do with her, YET.
2. What is happening with the project “This old house”? Well, the last time any work was done to it was 21 March of this year. My main man, the contractor, tore all the ligaments in his foot and had to wear a foot boot. (And, no, he was not working at my house when it happened!) He is doing better now and should be able to start back to work next week. The last he left off, the new 12 x 12 building needed to have the roof finished and the door hung. Not sure which project he will start on after the storage building is done.
3. How is the DH with the new sectional couch? He LOVES it now. He has not complained one minute about it since he got over the initial shock.
4. How is my job going? It’s going good at the moment. Just found out today that in fact they are going to keep me at least another 6 months even after the area man went to his big meeting out west. What a relief that is! Hopefully, the new boss will like me!
5. How are the things you ordered from here? The box just came today. That was 9 days ago that I ordered. I LOVE the stuff I ordered. The flip flops are so comfortable and so cute. The sunglasses are so DIVA. Worth every penny!
6. How are “them pups” liking their hound house? Well, some days I catch them both enjoying their porch. Some days I find them both inside sleeping together. Some days, neither one of them will sleep in there. Some days, only one of them will sleep in there. Just depends on their day! But one thing is for sure, DH loves the hound house for them pups. That’s all that matters!
7. Has my oldest son heard back from the doctor’s office yet about his blood test he had over a month ago? NO! Someone from the doctor’s office called this morning before 10 AM! Don’t. they. know. not. to. call. so. early? We did call back and had to leave yet another message. No one returned the call today. SURPRISE!
8. Did I write the recent poem, The Cleaning Poem? While I would love to let you all think I am that talented, I. am.not! I am not sure who wrote it, but it fits me to a T; some days! Who am I kidding, most days!
9. Who is whoopsadaisie? That would be my twin sister!
10. Why is that her name? Because she used to say that “whoopsadaisie” all the time.
11. Why did I only post 13 of my complaints? Well 3 reasons, a) it was Thirteen Thursday, b) it does say, FAVORITE things to complain about, c) I did not want you all to think that’s all I do if I listed them all!
12. What’s something exciting that happened this week? That would be my niece, J, who just found out today that her and her husband of 4 years are pregnant with their first child which is due the first of Dec!
13. What is something thought provoking that happened this week? That would be the birthday of my youngest daughter who turned 23 this week. I can't believe my baby girl's all grown up!
14. Why do we call her Harper Baby? Because she looks so much like her daddy’s side of the family on his mother’s side. Her grandmother’s maiden name was Harper.
15. Did you notice I changed my posting name? I got tired of the other long name so I decided to shorten it!
16. How is my niece, A, doing who moved out of her parent’s house? She is doing well. She got the job she was hoping to get and is working full time.
17. How many times did I leave my comfort zone this week? That would one day. I went to my office, to pick up lunch, go to my oldest daughter’s house to eat that lunch, back to my office, and then to Target.
18. What did I get at Target? Oh lots of things! Mostly toys for the nursery kids and my grand kids to play with at nana’s house. I can’t wait to let the toddlers play with the new toys on Sunday!
19. Do you read comments on other blog pages? Well, yes I do. Sometimes, I go back to a blog page and see what new comments are there after the one I left!
20. Why do you do that? Because I need a life? I have too much free time on my hands? Because I don’t want to clean? Okay, you pick one.

HOLLLA....

Beth over here, had a really cool idea. I am kinda using her as my inspiration for this post. Go and read her page by the way, it will touch your heart. Warning, you will shed tears and need lost of tissue. Thanks Beth!

So without any further delay, here's what I came up with for my Friday Five!

1. Most Informative blog post- Jo-Lynne has some really neat and informative information on her page. I loved her post today entitled, Get in her head. Warning, she is really smart!

2. Most Entertaining blog post-Lisa, over here, just kills me with her sense of humor. I died laughing over this post, Kindergarten: Reading, Writing, Mai-Tai’s and Mojito’s. this week. Warning, you may pee your pants!

3. Most Eventful blog post-Christie, over here, hands down won the most eventful post of the week. You won’t believe her week, I feel the earth move under my feet! Warning, nakedness is involved!

4. Most Humor Filled blog post-Michelle, over here, killed me with this one, Seriously, ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME ?? SERIOULSY ?!?! $%^#$ . I especially loved the comment left on her page by Sam. Check it out! Warning, you may fall on the floor from laughter as you read this one.

5. Most genuine blog post-Paige, over here, has the most beautiful pictures of her daughters, I. have. ever. seen. I heart this page. Read her posting, The Tulip house from this week! Warming, you will want to spend hours looking at all of her pictures.

There were many others that could have made my Friday Five list and I wish I could list you all. Kristina Maria and Leah both had some cute things this week as well. Three of the blog pages I read, I can’t recommend their pages for you to read because they have them all listed as private. So, I can’t tell you about them! Sorry. *sigh*

But I think you will be happy about these that I listed. Tell them CJ, the Purple Diva sent you!

A cleaning poem

I asked the Lord to tell me
Why my house is such a mess.
He asked if I'd been 'computering',
And I had to answer 'yes.'

He told me to get off my fanny
And tidy up the house.
And so I started cleaning up...
The smudges off my mouse.

I wiped and shined the topside.
That really did the trick...
I was just admiring my work..
I didn't mean to 'click.'
But click, I did, and oops I found
A real absorbing site
That I got SO way into.
I was into it all night. Sigh!

Nothing's changed except my mouse
It's very, very shiny.
I guess my house will stay a mess...
While I sit here on my hiney.

I loved this!

First thing I do when I get out of bed is grab my cup of water and my cell phone and head to the chaise lounge. Upon arriving to the chaise lounge I grab my laptop and proceed to opening my email. Today as I opened my emails and read each one, one title caught my attention. The title was "I loved this."

And I am happy to report that I did love it. It was so uplifting and so beautiful. A truly wonderful piece of art about Jesus Christ.

Please go here and check it out. Don't wait another minute, go now.

I think it will be the best 5 minutes of your day. I know it was mine, cause like the title said, I loved this!

How about a little cheese with that whine!

13 of my favorite things to complain about!

1. Being too hot, as in body temperature! Since taking my thyroid medicine, I have cooled down a little! But, I still can’t stand to be hot! The house temp at night has to be 65 and the day time temp has to be at least 65 with an occasional day of 66! If you come to my house wear a sweater, jacket or coat, cause you really don’t want me taking off my clothes!
2. Strands of hair left in a bathroom sink. When you dry, comb, or brush your hair, clean up your hair that fell out of your head and into my sink! I hate seeing your glob of hair!
3. Pieces of food left in the sink drain catcher thing! Any participles of food left from washing or rinsing out a dish left in the drain catcher thing drives me in sane! It’s the OCD in me!
4. The blankets on my bed not straight. Every night before I go to sleep, the sheets, blankets, and comforter have to be straight. (And No I don’t make up my bed every morning!) Hush!
5. Cups left all over the counters or the table in my kitchen. If you are done with your drink, empty the cup and put it in the sink or dishwasher. If you want to keep your drink, take it with you!
6. The boy’s dirty socks left on the floor of their room. I know they have to see the socks lying on the floor as they walk out of their room. Why can’t they just pick them up???
7. Turning off the lights outside before the boys have come home for the night. My DH CAN. NOT. STAND. to leave a light on; inside or outside! I swear I think he grew up in a cave!
8. Being woke up before my eyes are ready to stay open for the day. Either my DH getting up to use the potty in the middle of the night or my many many dreams at night keep me from sleeping all night through the night; therefore some mornings I have a hard time waking up, early. Say like before 10 AM!
9. Teenagers who act disrespectful to their parents. I live with 3 of them, so I spend a lot of time complaining about this one. Trust me you don’t want me to go there!
10. Not feeding the cat that walks all around your feet meowing and rubbing up against you. How in the world can you ignore that annoying cat? I mean, I love that cat!
11. Empty water jugs in the refrigerator. Nothing aggravates me more then to want a cup of cold water and all of the water jugs have about an inch of water in them.
12. Tailgaters. I don’t care who it is you are tailgating, BACK OFF!

And rounding off the list with number 13 is:
People who show up at baby showers that eat your food and drink your punch, but were not invited!
